A legal dispute has emerged as Cat Jarman, the new partner of Earl Spencer, has taken his wife, Karen, to court over allegations of “misuse of private information.” The situation has raised questions and intrigue surrounding the dynamics between the parties involved.
During proceedings related to the dissolution of his first marriage, a court heard that Earl Spencer admitted to having been “vicious, cruel, and a bully” towards his ex-wife, Victoria.
The conclusion of Earl Spencer’s second marriage was arguably more tumultuous than the first, as he left his wife, Caroline, just four months after she gave birth to their daughter, Lara, to pursue an affair with American television presenter Coleen Sullivan, who had come to interview him about his late sister, Princess Diana.
At 60, Earl Spencer may have hoped for a less contentious and more discreet resolution to his divorce from his latest wife, the glamorous former Karen Villeneuve, from whom he separated earlier this year. However, those hopes have been dashed by an upcoming High Court action in which Countess Spencer is being sued for misuse of private information.
The unexpected twist in this case is that the individual filing the claim against Karen, 52, is none other than Professor Catrine Jarman, 42.
Cat Jarman, a blonde Scandinavian archaeologist, is the individual with whom Earl Spencer has co-hosted the history podcast The Rabbit Hole Detectives for the past few months.
As Earl Spencer and Cat Jarman acknowledged in a recent interview, their relationship has evolved beyond a professional connection. “We are close,” Spencer remarked about their developing romance, a sentiment that may have been difficult for him to downplay, especially considering they were spotted together in London this summer, enjoying each other’s company while attending the musical comedy The Book of Mormon.
The pair initially met when Cat sought to locate an ancient village purportedly hidden within the grounds of Althorp, Spencer’s ancestral home in Northamptonshire, for a Channel 4 documentary. Although the search proved unfruitful, it appears that Cat, who has reportedly separated from her husband, has unearthed something of greater significance through her subsequent legal action.
Earl Spencer and Cat Jarman first met when she sought to uncover an ancient village purportedly “lost” within the grounds of Althorp, Spencer’s esteemed family estate in Northamptonshire, for a Channel 4 documentary. Although this quest proved unsuccessful, Cat, who has since reportedly separated from her husband, appears to believe she has unearthed something of greater significance through her High Court action.
Both Cat and Canadian-born Karen, who remained at Althorp following her separation from Spencer, have chosen not to comment on the situation. However, Karen hinted at potential revelations on social media regarding what was discovered during “the excavation.” She posted, “You won’t believe it! Can’t wait to share.”
