Former Disney Channel actor Daniel Benson has revealed he faced severe financial strain before launching an OnlyFans account in 2022, saying mounting bills and personal hardship left him with limited options.
The 38-year-old, best known for his role in Wizards of Waverly Place, shared his experience in a recent interview, explaining that he lost his marketing job during the COVID-19 pandemic after struggling to secure acting work for several years. He said the situation was further complicated by rising veterinary costs for his ailing dog, Lynn.
Benson described having to make difficult day-to-day decisions, including cutting back on food expenses, as he tried to afford medical treatment for his pet. He said the emotional and financial pressure ultimately influenced his decision to join the subscription platform as a way to regain stability.
The actor, who has since built a large following online, said the move allowed him to support himself and prioritize his dog’s care during a challenging period. He added that public judgment mattered less than ensuring he could meet his responsibilities at the time.
Benson has since continued to work as an online content creator and influencer, expanding his presence across social media and subscription platforms.#newsafro_
