Sienna Miller has candidly shared her emotions about becoming a mother for the second time at the age of 42, following the birth of her baby daughter with boyfriend Oli Green, 27.
Sienna Miller gave birth to her second child earlier this year, at the age of 42.
In the latest issue of Stellar Magazine, the actress expresses her strong endorsement of late motherhood.
The American Sniper actress gave birth to a daughter, whose name remains undisclosed, with her partner Oli Green in January. She remarked to the publication that her experience of motherhood, 12 years later, is markedly different. “I am a very different person now,” she stated. “While there are many opinions about having children in your 40s, I advocate for it wholeheartedly. I feel incredibly fortunate.”
Sienna Miller also commented on her ability to manage both motherhood and her career. She noted, “I’ve recently completed my maternity leave. My baby is now eight months old. Given the current emphasis on the female experience in Hollywood, I can bring my baby with me to work, and filming pauses to accommodate that.” She added, “I’m still breastfeeding, pumping, and sending milk back to the hotel. You just find a way to make it work.”
I find equal satisfaction in both aspects of my life. I consider myself fortunate to be employed in a role that permits me to have my infant present at work.
Sienna, aged 42, and Oli, aged 27, initially began their relationship in February 2022 and welcomed their daughter approximately eight months ago.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Sienna remarked on Oli: ‘I did not anticipate that the relationship would become serious, but I quickly found myself in love. My initial reaction was not to seek out a younger partner; rather, I found it somewhat frustrating that he was younger.’
She further noted, ‘There is a generational difference in the manner in which men show respect towards women. While this observation pertains specifically to him, who is particularly wise and well-adjusted, I believe it also reflects broader generational trends.
In addition to the eight-month-old daughter she shares with Oli, Sienna has a 12-year-old daughter, Marlowe, from her previous relationship with Tom Sturridge.
In a revealing interview, Sienna described the experience of having her second child as ‘cathartic and healing.’ She stated, ‘I am in a state of bliss. This experience has been profoundly cathartic and healing, which may sound unconventional, but it aligns with the life I aspire to live.’
She further commented on the 11-year age gap between her daughters, noting, ‘It is actually quite advantageous, as one is small and portable, while the other is becoming increasingly independent.’
Regarding Marlowe, who joined her on the Cannes red carpet earlier this year, Sienna remarked, ‘She is extremely stylish and discerning. Her critical eye is reminiscent of a young Anna Wintour, particularly in her disdain for some of my wardrobe choices.’
Sienna is presently engaged in promoting her latest film, Kevin Costner’s western epic Horizon: An American Saga.
Embracing motherhood anew in her early forties, Sienna is experiencing a professional and personal renaissance. Fans and commentators have noted that the British actress appears to be in her prime, with many asserting that she has ‘never looked better,’ despite the considerable demands of both her career and young family.
