Kimberly Anne Scott, the former spouse of Eminem (born Marshall Mathers III), is reportedly facing two misdemeanor charges in the State of Michigan following an alleged motor vehicle incident involving minor passengers.
According to court documentation cited by media reports, Scott, 51, has been charged with (1) operating a vehicle while intoxicated and (2) failure to stop or provide identification after causing property damage. Her attorney, Michael Smith, has stated that, as of Tuesday, she had not been formally arrested and that he was unaware of any active warrant, while further indicating that she would voluntarily surrender should a warrant be issued.
The alleged incident reportedly occurred at approximately 8:00 p.m. ET on Monday, February 16. Sources cited in press coverage claim that Scott departed her residence with her teenage son, Parker, and three of his friends. While en route, she allegedly struck a parked vehicle on a residential street. It is further alleged that she did not stop following the initial collision and instead returned to her home.
Upon arrival, Scott allegedly struck her garage door while pulling into the driveway, resulting in visible damage to both the structure and her white Range Rover. Photographs published by TMZ purportedly depict damage to the vehicle, including a broken passenger-side headlight and a partially detached bumper. A neighbor reportedly contacted law enforcement after witnessing the events.
Authorities allegedly transported Scott to a local hospital for evaluation of unspecified injuries. She was reportedly discharged the following morning.
Scott has previously battled substance abuse issues but was reported to have achieved sobriety in recent years.
She and Eminem were married twice—first from 1999 to 2001 and again briefly in 2006. The former couple share a daughter, Hailie Jade Scott. Scott also has additional children from other relationships, and Eminem has adopted two children connected to Scott’s family.
The matter remains pending, and no adjudication has yet occurred. As such, the allegations are charges only, and Scott is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.#newsafro_
