Paul Preece Jr., the winner of the inaugural season of the Outlast survival competition series distributed by Netflix, is reportedly facing multiple serious criminal charges in the state of Tennessee.
According to jail records reviewed by media outlets, Preece was taken into custody in Knox County, Tennessee on March 6 pursuant to a capias warrant. Authorities have charged him with rape of a child, aggravated sexual battery, and attempted rape of a child.
Public reporting indicates that the case arises from allegations associated with the aforementioned warrant; however, detailed information concerning the underlying circumstances of the accusations has not yet been publicly disclosed by law-enforcement officials.
Preece gained public recognition after competing on the first season of Outlast, a wilderness survival competition in which participants form teams and attempt to endure the harsh conditions of the Alaskan wilderness for a prize of approximately $1 million. During the 2023 season, Preece was part of the winning “Charlie Camp” team alongside Seth Lueker and Nick Radner, with the prize money reportedly shared among the teammates.
At the time of reporting, Preece had not publicly responded to requests for comment regarding the allegations. As with all criminal matters, the charges remain allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.#newsafro_
