Actress Demi Moore recently disclosed that a formative conversation during her adolescence had a decisive impact on the direction of her life and eventual career in the entertainment industry.
The 63-year-old performer recounted the incident while speaking on a panel hosted by the brand Kérastase during the global launch of its Chronologiste line. Moore explained that at approximately 14 years of age she had been invited to attend a studio taping of the television series Happy Days in California, an experience she described as highly exciting at the time.
According to Moore, she briefly interacted with the show’s creator, Garry Marshall. She stated that, during the exchange, Marshall remarked that if she could “bottle” the energy she displayed, she could potentially do something meaningful with it. Moore indicated that this comment remained with her and ultimately helped shape her professional aspirations.
Reflecting on the moment, Moore stated that the remark instilled in her a clearer sense of direction at a time when she felt she urgently needed guidance. She explained that the comment effectively enabled her to channel her enthusiasm and focus it toward what later became her career in acting.
Moore further recounted that she later informed Marshall that his words had profoundly influenced her life. She noted that Marshall did not recall the interaction; however, she emphasized that the significance of the exchange remained intact because it illustrated how even a brief statement can have a lasting influence on another person.
Marshall, widely recognized for his work in television and film, including Pretty Woman and The Princess Diaries, passed away in July 2016 at the age of 81 following complications related to pneumonia after suffering a stroke.
Separately, Moore recently attended the Milan Fashion Week, where she appeared at the Gucci Fall/Winter 2026 show wearing what appeared to be a short bob hairstyle, prompting speculation among fans that she had cut her traditionally long hair. She subsequently clarified during the Kérastase event that the hairstyle was, in fact, a wig styled by hair professional Dimitris Giannetos.
Moore later affirmed via social media that she intends to maintain her long hair, describing it as an important element of her personal identity. She also promoted Kérastase’s Chronologiste Overnight Youth Serum during the event.
The actress previously underwent a dramatic hairstyle change for her role as Lieutenant Jordan O’Neil in the film G.I. Jane (1997), directed by Ridley Scott, which required her to shave her head on camera. Moore has since described that experience as one that ultimately deepened her appreciation for her hair.#newsafro_
