Actress Demi Moore has clarified public speculation regarding a viral hairstyle that prompted widespread belief she had cut her long hair after appearing with a short bob during the Milan Fashion Week.
Moore appeared at the Gucci Fall/Winter 2026 runway presentation in Milan with what appeared to be a dramatic hydro-bob haircut, leading fans to assume that the actress had removed her signature long dark hair. However, the transformation was subsequently revealed to have been achieved through the use of a styled wig rather than an actual haircut.
The look was created by celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, who reportedly customized the wig into what he described as the “Demi-tris Bob.” Giannetos, a Greek-born stylist, has also worked with high-profile clients including Amal Clooney, Cindy Crawford, Gigi Hadid, Ciara, Tate McRae, Kim Kardashian, and Kourtney Kardashian Barker. Fellow hairstylist Chris McMillan—whose clients include Jennifer Aniston and Sarah Jessica Parker—publicly praised the look on social media, suggesting that the style suited Moore.
Moore later addressed the viral moment while hosting a promotional “Power Talks” event for the French luxury haircare brand Kérastase at Nya Studios in Los Angeles. During the event, the actress described the transformation as an “incredible moment,” explaining that experimenting with temporary styles allowed her to explore different aspects of her public persona.
Despite the attention generated by the bob hairstyle, Moore emphasized that her signature long hair remains unchanged. In a social media post the same day, the actress indicated that her long hair “is here to stay,” reaffirming her preference for the look that has become closely associated with her public image.
Moore showcased her natural long hair while attending the launch event for Kérastase’s new “Chronologiste Overnight Youth Serum,” a luxury haircare product introduced by the brand. She previously explained in an interview with People that her long hair feels most representative of her identity, although wigs and styling pieces allow her to experiment with alternative looks.
The actress also reflected on a prior transformation undertaken for the 1997 film G.I. Jane, directed by Ridley Scott, in which she portrayed Lieutenant Jordan O’Neil and shaved her head on camera as part of the role. Moore noted that the experience ultimately increased her appreciation for her natural hair.
Professionally, Moore is scheduled to appear as one of the presenters at the 98th Academy Awards, which will be broadcast on ABC and Hulu. Other presenters announced for the ceremony include Adrien Brody, Kieran Culkin, Mikey Madison, Zoe Saldaña, Javier Bardem, Chris Evans, Kumail Nanjiani, and Maya Rudolph.
In addition to her film work, Moore currently appears in the drama series Landman, created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace. The series—adapted from Wallace’s 2019 podcast Boomtown—has been renewed for a third season by Paramount+, with Moore portraying oil executive Cami Miller.
Her forthcoming film projects include the science-fiction comedy I Love Boosters, directed by Boots Riley and co-starring LaKeith Stanfield, Will Poulter, Keke Palmer, and Eiza González.
Moore will also lend her voice to the animated project The Magic 7, which originated in 1997 and is now being released as a web series following a successful crowdfunding campaign. Additionally, she is expected to appear alongside Colman Domingo in the film Strange Arrivals, portraying the married couple Betty and Barney Hill in a dramatization based on the widely reported 1961 alien abduction case.#newsafro_
