Nigeria’s official representative at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant, Onyinyechi Basil, has formally called on members of the public to extend support and participate in the voting process as she represents the nation on the international stage in Thailand.
The appeal was issued through the official Facebook handle of Miss Universe Nigeria on Monday, urging Nigerians both domestically and abroad to vote for Ms. Basil across all relevant categories in the ongoing competition.
“The time is now, Nigeria! Our queen, Onyinyechi Basil, is flying the Green and White with grace, power, and purpose at the Miss Universe 2025 competition in Thailand. Every vote counts, and every click brings Nigeria closer to the crown,” the statement read.
The organisation provided detailed guidance for participation, directing supporters to access the Miss Universe App, locate Nigeria in all voting categories, and submit votes accordingly. The post also encouraged fans to share voting links to amplify national support.
A subsequent statement from the organisation commended Ms. Basil for her dedication since arriving in Thailand, noting:
“A week ago, our Queen embarked on a journey to Thailand — a mission to raise our flag high and represent Nigeria at the prestigious Miss Universe 2025 competition. We are deeply proud of her unwavering commitment, grace, and hard work throughout this incredible journey.”
The organisers expressed gratitude to supporters globally, acknowledging public engagement through votes, messages, and social media interactions, and urged continued participation until voting closes on November 19, 2025. Voting remains open across multiple categories, including Most Photogenic, People’s Choice, Miss Congeniality, Best Skin, Best Evening Gown, Best National Costume, Beyond the Crown, and Most Beautiful People.
Onyinyechi Basil, representing Anambra State, was previously crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 following a competitive finale in Lagos, where she emerged ahead of Miss Lagos (Damilola Bolarinde), Miss Bayelsa (Fortune Kurobo), and Miss Ogun (Irene Ikediashi).#newsafro_
