Mr. Godwin Awaji-Iroso Abiodun, a Nigerian national, was awarded the distinction of Best Physique during the preliminary round of the Mister Cosmopolitan 2025 competition, conducted at the MBK Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.
Mr. Abiodun, who previously secured the title of Misters of Nigeria 2025 and is presently representing Nigeria on the international stage, publicly acknowledged this achievement via a statement on Facebook dated Friday, wherein he wrote: “Best physique Cosmopolitan 2025 all the way from PH to Thailand.”
Additional recognitions during the preliminary event included Best National Costume, awarded to a contestant from the Philippines, and Best Talent, awarded to a contestant from Thailand. Mr. Abiodun further secured recognition in the swimwear segment of the competition.
As part of the proceedings, Mr. Abiodun—identified also as a creative designer and the reigning Mr. Rivers State University 2023/2024—presented Nigeria’s national costume titled “Omu Alabo – The Warlord,” an ensemble inspired by King Agbanijike of Bille Kingdom in Rivers State. The attire was designed to symbolize the cultural heritage, strength, and warrior ethos of the Niger Delta region.
The preliminary competition featured eighteen (18) candidates from various countries, all contending for advancement to the semifinals of the Mister Cosmopolitan 2025 grand finale.
At the preliminary cultural showcase of the Mister Cosmopolitan 2025 competition in Bangkok, Thailand, held on Friday, Mr. Godwin Awaji-Iroso Abiodun, representing Nigeria, appeared in his national costume titled Iru-Akabor. The moment was documented and credited to photographer Sean Tiu.
Three days prior, all contestants in the international pageant had formally received their sashes at a welcome ceremony hosted at Divalux Resort & Spa in Bangkok. Said ceremony was organized under the auspices of the pageant’s founding committee, chaired by Mr. Faiz Noh.
As of Friday, fan-voting results identified the leading five (5) contestants by percentage of votes as follows:
Mr. Shawn Lin Yu Hsiang of Taiwan — 21.42%
Mr. Khandy Noprian of Indonesia — 19.20%
Mr. Harsh D. Peiris of Sri Lanka — 17.51%
Mr. Hanyoung Kim of Korea — 11.56%
