Country music artist Luke Combs, aged 35, has publicly acknowledged his admiration for fellow artist Taylor Swift, also 35, following a recent encounter at the annual Tight End University charity event hosted by NFL player Travis Kelce.
Speaking to Extra after receiving the ACM International Award at the 18th ACM Honors in Nashville, Combs remarked on the significance of the meeting, stating: “I got to meet her recently at the Tight End U… She was in town for that. She was really, really great.”
Combs further praised Swift’s musical impact, observing: “Her music is undeniable. It would be impossible to not know, like, every one of her songs almost.”
The comments suggest potential interest in a future artistic collaboration between the two prominent country and pop music figures.
Country music artist Luke Combs, recipient of the CMA Single of the Year Award for his rendition of Tracy Chapman’s Fast Car, has indicated that he would welcome the opportunity to collaborate with fellow artist Taylor Swift, contingent upon her willingness. Combs stated: “It’d be fun. Yeah, that would be a good time.”
Combs also attended one of Swift’s performances in Miami alongside his wife, Nicole Hocking, and described the experience positively: “Her team was really, really great to my wife and her friends, and it was a really great time.”
Swift is scheduled to release her next album, The Life of a Showgirl, on October 3. She recently appeared on The Heights, a podcast co-hosted by her boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce, and his brother Jason. During the episode, Swift presented a vinyl edition of the album, noting its distinct packaging: a white case featuring her initials, “TS”, in orange block letters.
Additionally, Swift announced that multiple vinyl variations of the record will be available to fans, including the Baby That’s Show Business edition and other limited editions—Shiny Bug, It’s Beautiful, It’s Rapturous, and It’s Frightening. She further revealed that the creation of the new songs commenced during her marathon Eras tour, remarking: “I’d do like three shows in a row. I’d have three days off. I’d fly to Sweden, go back to the tour and actually like working on this. I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating.”
Taylor Swift has reunited with longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback for her forthcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl. Swift characterized the new compositions as “some of my favorite songs that I’ve ever done before.”
Although the trio previously co-produced chart-topping singles such as Shake It Off and We Are Never Getting Back Together, they had not undertaken the production of an entire album together until now. Swift described the collaborative process as highly focused and synergistic: “It’s just the three of us making a focused album… It felt like catching lightning in a bottle, honestly.”
The album’s material is largely informed by Swift’s experiences backstage during her Eras tour, which she described as stemming from “the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life. And so that effervescence has come through on this record.”#newsafro_
