Jodie Comer, aged 32, recounted an experience during a male-led acting workshop in which she felt discomfort and apprehension about voicing her concerns. The actress expressed regret, stating, “I let myself down” for not addressing the conduct in question immediately.
In an interview featured in the British GQ Heroes Summer Issue, Ms. Comer described the atmosphere, stating: “There was just an energy in the way he was leading the workshop that made us all feel a little uncomfortable.”
While providing limited specifics regarding the incident, Ms. Comer asserted that all participants in the workshop experienced a collective sense of being “muted” and “stunned” by the conduct observed.
She elaborated: “We were all looking at each other as if to say, ‘This doesn’t feel quite right,’ but it probably continued for approximately fifteen minutes too long before someone suggested, ‘You know what, why don’t we leave this here?’ We all felt as though we had muted ourselves. We were stunned by it.”
Ms. Comer further reflected, stating: “It’s suppression. Can I? Should I? Those little moments that show up where I think, ‘Wow, I let myself down.’ I’m just trying to honor myself a little bit more.”
In a separate context, Ms. Comer participated in a provocative magazine cover shoot, in which she was photographed wearing lingerie and holding a cigarette. The front cover featured Ms. Comer in a black dress with a thigh-high split, displaying her toned physique. Additional images included Ms. Comer in black suspenders paired with an oversized navy jumper.
Ms. Comer also disclosed feeling “scared” while filming the upcoming zombie thriller 28 Years Later.
The actress portrays the character Isla, the spouse of Jamie, a scavenger played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
Despite the film’s intent to evoke fear among its audience, Ms. Comer conveyed that she herself experienced genuine fear during production, emphasizing that the emotions portrayed on screen “can’t be faked.”
In a featurette released prior to the film’s anticipated release later this month, Ms. Comer described her experience working with director Danny Boyle as “the most amazing experience,” praising the dynamic interplay between the camera, characters, and narrative that brought the story to life.
Ms. Comer stated she was “quite taken aback” during filming, having spent considerable time in scenic outdoor locations before experiencing a sudden shift when her character was pursued. She described the sensation as “scary,” emphasizing the genuine tension involved, and noted that such high-intensity circumstances are “exhilarating,” “thrilling,” and “terrifying.”
Regarding the film’s director, Ms. Comer remarked, “I think what Danny brings to this genre is humanity and emotion.”
Concurrently, director Danny Boyle disclosed significant information concerning the fate of actor Cillian Murphy in the 28 Days Later franchise.
Mr. Murphy, aged 49, originally starred in 28 Days Later as a bicycle courier named Jim, who awakens from a coma to find society collapsed following the accidental release of a highly contagious, aggression-inducing virus.
Speculation circulated that Mr. Murphy would reprise his role in the sequel. The release of the trailer in December featured a character resembling a zombified version of Jim, but this conjecture was dispelled when a London art dealer and model revealed he portrayed that zombie figure.
Director Boyle has since confirmed that Mr. Murphy will appear in both the second and third installments of the new trilogy and will also serve as an executive producer.
Speaking to IGN about Mr. Murphy’s involvement in the post-apocalyptic thriller, Mr. Boyle stated, “He is in the second one,” but declined to disclose further details, quipping, “I shouldn’t give away too much – I’ll get killed.”#newsafro_
