Jonah Hill has opened up about his decision to leave Los Angeles in search of a quieter life, revealing that he and his wife, Olivia Millar, are now raising their children in San Diego.
The 42-year-old filmmaker shared the insight during a live recording of the SmartLess, explaining that he wanted to build a family life away from the intensity of Hollywood. He said the move, which happened about three years ago, was driven by a desire for a more grounded environment.
Describing his new home as a “very small town,” Hill spoke warmly about the sense of community he has found there, noting that his neighbors treat him like anyone else and do not focus on his celebrity status. He highlighted one neighbor in particular as a close friend, praising the normalcy of their relationship.
Hill also gave a public nod to his wife during the event, calling her his “best friend” as she watched from the audience.
Reflecting on his upbringing, the actor recalled growing up in Los Angeles in the 1990s as a unique experience, where he had access to both the entertainment industry and the city’s underground culture, from skateboarding to comedy clubs.
The comments come shortly after Hill revealed several personal milestones, including his marriage and the arrival of a second child. He emphasized that his family now takes priority over everything else in his life.
Hill is among a growing number of high-profile figures stepping away from Hollywood in favor of quieter lifestyles, as more celebrities seek privacy and a different pace outside the spotlight.#newsafro_
