A man identified as Otunba Kunle Akinyele tragically collapsed and died on Saturday during his wife’s 60th birthday celebration at an event centre in the Egbeda area of Lagos State.
In a widely circulated video, Akinyele was seen addressing guests on stage when he suddenly slumped, moments after beckoning his wife and quietly requesting water. The shocking incident has since drawn widespread sorrow and condolences.
When his wife didn’t respond immediately, Mr. Akinyele repeated his gesture, clearly signalling his need for water. Mere seconds later, he collapsed on stage.
Efforts were made to revive him at the venue, but when these proved unsuccessful, he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was reportedly pronounced dead on arrival.#newsafro_
