Billie Eilish received support from her mother, Maggie Baird, at the singer’s Overheated climate change conference in Atlanta. The event, aimed at raising awareness about climate issues, showcased Eilish’s commitment to environmental activism, with her mother by her side, reinforcing their shared dedication to this important cause.
On Sunday, the 23-year-old singer, who recently hosted a star-studded Halloween bash, organized the Overheated climate change conference in collaboration with her mother’s organization, Support + Feed. The event aimed to raise awareness about sustainability and environmental issues and took place at the renowned State Farm Arena.
The conference featured notable activists, including Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, Jasmine Crowe Houston, Wawa Gatheru, and Robin Okunowu, and focused on bringing together leaders to provide solutions and resources to combat the climate crisis. The event commenced at 10 a.m. and concluded at 4 p.m. ET, with only 300 tickets available to the public. It was also livestreamed on the Wildflower singer’s website, allowing broader access to the discussions and initiatives presented.
Maggie Baird expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “I am thrilled that we can bring this unique event to Billie’s US fans and to people from all over who can watch the livestream. At this time, more than ever, we need everyone to be a climate activist.”
The conference featured a variety of panels, including Environmental Justice 101, The Stories We Tell, What We Eat Matters, Fashion Your Future, Climate Optimism, and Your Vote, Your Power. According to a press release, the event emphasized “accessible actions for audience members to take in making a positive impact on their communities and the planet.” Additionally, this year’s conference highlighted the significance of political actions that promote climate solutions.
