Maria Bello has officially filed for divorce from her wife, renowned French chef Dominique Crenn, bringing their one-year marriage to a close.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the 58-year-old Coyote Ugly actress filed the petition on Wednesday, citing April 7 as the date of separation—exactly one year to the day after their wedding.
The filing marks the end of a relationship that had spanned several years prior to their marriage, with the couple having faced significant milestones together, including a long engagement and health challenges.
In her divorce filing, Maria Bello cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the dissolution of her marriage to Dominique Crenn.
The petition confirms that there are no child custody or support issues to address, as the couple shares no minor children. It remains unclear whether a prenuptial agreement was executed prior to their marriage, and details regarding the division of assets or spousal support have not been publicly disclosed.
In her petition for divorce, Maria Bello has requested that the costs associated with mediation be equitably shared between herself and her estranged spouse, Dominique Crenn. She further indicated that matters concerning spousal support are to be determined pursuant to a separate written agreement.
Bello and Crenn publicly acknowledged their relationship in 2020, disclosing that their engagement had taken place the previous year. Speculation regarding their marital status intensified in April 2024 when the couple appeared at the Time 100 Gala wearing matching rings. The following month, Bello confirmed that they had indeed married, describing their Cabo San Lucas ceremony as “bohemian, chic” and attended by 140 guests, including Mariska Hargitay, Gavin Rossdale, Vanessa Getty, and Patricia Arquette.
The couple spent a significant portion of their engagement residing in Mexico during the COVID-19 pandemic, referring to the country as their “home away from home.” They selected Montage Los Cabos as their wedding venue, drawn to its striking coastal vistas.
At the ceremony, Crenn was escorted by her twin daughters and their grandmother—her former mother-in-law—to the song Kiss by Prince. Bello made her entrance to Burna Boy’s Time Flies, accompanied by her son, Jackson McDermott, 23, from her prior relationship with studio executive Dan McDermott.#newsafro_
