The remains of Valentine Ikechukwu, a 16-year-old Nigerian national residing in the United Kingdom, have been recovered following a drowning incident at Colwick Country Park on April 30.
According to a public statement issued by Nottinghamshire Police via their official Facebook page and reviewed by PUNCH Metro, the teenager encountered distress while swimming in the lake, prompting an immediate emergency response.
The statement further disclosed that Valentine Ikechukwu’s body was recovered at approximately 8:00 p.m., following an extensive search operation led by Nottinghamshire Police in coordination with other emergency response units.
It read: “Emergency services were called to Colwick Country Park at 5.20 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, after Valentine got into difficulty whilst swimming in the lake.”
