Toni Garrn led the glamour at the opening gala of the 75th Berlinale International Film Festival on Thursday night. The 32-year-old German model stunned in a plunging pink gown as she walked the red carpet in Berlin, alongside acclaimed actress and Golden Bear honoree Tilda Swinton. Toni’s dazzling ensemble featured a chic cape layered over the slinky dress, perfectly showcasing her trim physique and adding an air of sophistication to her red carpet look.
Toni Garrn worked her best red carpet poses, lifting her dramatic cape and flashing a radiant smile at the crowd of photographers. A dash of ruby red lipstick added a bold pop of color, further enhancing her glamorous look.
Tilda Swinton, meanwhile, looked as chic as ever in a striking black dress adorned with ruffle and button detailing, exuding effortless elegance alongside Toni on the red carpet.
Tilda Swinton, the Oscar-winning actress, looked stunning in a floor-length black dress as she worked the crowds at the Berlin Film Festival, despite the heavy rain. The Scottish star was honored with the Golden Bear for lifetime achievement during Wednesday’s opening gala, where she delivered an impassioned speech in support of “the great independent state of cinema.” Without mentioning Gaza or Palestine directly, Tilda spoke about cinema as an “unlimited realm, innately inclusive, immune to efforts of occupation, colonization, takeover, ownership, or the development of Riviera property.”
The Hollywood Reporter shared that Tilda also told the festival crowd, “Here’s one of the best things that can happen to a young person curious about the world and how to live a life in it. They can find themselves here at the Berlinale. When I first came to this festival, I was 25 and looking for my life, looking for the world and signs of human life there, how I might take my place among it, on the hunt for amazement, for solidarity and connection, and I can say I found it all right here in one fell swoop.”
Tilda has been a fixture at the Berlin Film Festival for 30 years, with 26 of her films screened there, and she served as president of the jury in 2009.
Toni Garrn has also been a long-time supporter of the festival. The German model rose to prominence in the fashion industry after signing an exclusive contract with Calvin Klein in 2008, making her debut for the designer in their Spring/Summer 2008 runway show in New York at just 15 years old. She went on to feature in Calvin Klein’s advertising campaign and walked exclusively for the brand the following year.#newsafro_
