Simon Cowell shared his heartfelt support for the people of Los Angeles on Saturday as wildfires continue to devastate the city. The fires, which have so far claimed 16 lives and destroyed 12,000 structures, have prompted evacuation orders and strict water-saving measures.
In an emotional video message posted to Instagram over the weekend, Cowell, 65, who owns property in Malibu—one of the affected areas—reached out to those facing the crisis. He urged residents to stay safe and expressed his deep concern for the community, sending his love to everyone affected by the ongoing disaster.

Cowell mentioned that he had researched organizations providing aid and found that the Red Cross is doing significant work in the area. He encouraged others who are able to contribute to do so, emphasizing the urgent need for support, both now and in the future. He also shared a link to the Red Cross, stating that he would be making a donation himself.

To manage the situation, several off-ramps to major freeways in West Los Angeles, including Getty Center Drive and Wilshire Boulevard, have been closed to limit traffic.
According to Cal Fire, six fires are currently burning, with the Palisades fire being the largest. The spread of flames has forced evacuations from affluent neighborhoods like Brentwood and Encino, where several celebrities, including LeBron James, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Kamala Harris, reside. James tweeted his hope for an end to the nightmare, sharing his concern over the situation.
In response to the worsening conditions, LA authorities declared a local health emergency due to severely degraded air quality, which poses significant risks to public health.
