The Duke of Sussex recognized a Santa Barbara helicopter pilot during the One805Live! concert, hosted at Kevin Costner’s oceanside estate in California.
Among the attendees were several A-list celebrities, including Jeff Bridges, Rob Lowe, and Pink, who gathered to honor the heroism of first responders.
Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle participated in the same event last year, leading many to express hopes for Meghan’s return this year. However, a reliable source has reported that “the consensus is that she is unwell and unable to attend,” as stated by the Mirror.
Prince Harry is anticipated to travel to New York over the weekend for various events, including the Diana Awards and a gathering hosted by the Halo Trust, an organization with which Princess Diana was associated.
Dressed in a navy blue suit and light blue shirt, Harry addressed the audience at the One805 concert shortly after his arrival at 7 PM, where he presented an award to local helicopter pilot Loren Courtney at the beginning of the evening.
He humorously noted that both he and Loren Courtney felt more at ease piloting a helicopter than speaking onstage.
This follows the announcement that Prince Harry will return to the UK later this month to attend a prominent charity event in London.
The Duke of Sussex is set to be a guest at the annual WellChild Awards, fulfilling his responsibilities as the charity’s patron. This national charity, dedicated to supporting seriously ill children, remains one of the few UK-based organizations with which the prince has maintained ties following his contentious departure from royal duties and subsequent relocation to the United States.
He opted to retain this position, which he has held for 16 years, after his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, requested that he resign from his other royal patronages due to his status as a non-working member of the royal family.
There was no indication that his wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, would accompany him for the event.
According to various reports, she has vowed never to return to the UK, and during a visit earlier this year when the couple traveled to Nigeria, she did not exit the airport upon arriving in the UK.
On Monday, the Daily Mail reported that Prince Harry may travel to the UK to attend the awards, following well wishes from both Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace for his 40th birthday on their social media channels.
With the King currently residing in Scotland and returning to London for ongoing cancer treatment, there may be an opportunity for a private meeting between father and son.
However, the King has a significant engagement in Scotland just two days prior to Harry’s potential visit, as he and Queen Camilla are scheduled to attend the Scottish Parliament to commemorate its 25th anniversary.
This indicates that he may remain in Scotland while his son is in the UK.
The last encounter between the two occurred in February, when Prince Harry traveled from the US for a brief visit following the announcement of the King’s cancer diagnosis.
Earlier this week, Harry and Meghan emphasized the importance of voting as a “fundamental way to influence communities” and create a “more equitable world,” issuing a new statement in advance of the upcoming US election.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, residents of Montecito, California, observed National Voter Registration Day yesterday by organizing a letter-writing activity for their Archewell team.
The Archewell website detailed how the couple’s staff utilized “Vote Forward’s impactful letter-writing tool” to motivate unregistered voters to participate in the upcoming presidential election in November.
The statement emphasized: “Voting is not just a right; it’s a fundamental way to influence the fate of our communities. At The Archewell Foundation, we recognize that civic engagement, regardless of political affiliation, is essential to creating a more just and equitable world.”
