Ellie Jenas, wife of Jermaine Jenas, has returned to Instagram, breaking her social media silence for the first time since the BBC dismissed Jenas for sending “inappropriate” texts to other women.
Ellie Jenas, wife of disgraced football pundit Jermaine Jenas, has resumed her social media presence for the first time since his BBC contract was terminated due to sending inappropriate texts to other women.
Jenas, 41, who previously played for Tottenham Hotspur and the England national team, is working to salvage his 12-year marriage after admitting to sending explicit messages to two female BBC employees associated with Match Of The Day and The One Show. Additionally, he faces accusations of sending explicit photos to a third unnamed woman while abroad during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
On Tuesday evening, Ellie Jenas, the wife of former footballer Jermaine Jenas, made her return to Instagram to announce a new business venture. She revealed the launch of Preppy Skin, a grooming brand exclusively for individuals under the age of 16. In her post, Ellie shared her excitement about the project, stating, “I’m so excited to finally reveal something very special that I have been working on for the last 3 years.”
Ellie Jenas introduced Preppy Skin, a new personal care brand for kids and teens, on Instagram. She described it as filling a gap in the market with products designed to be both engaging and visually appealing, particularly for her eldest child’s “Get ready with me” routines. The initial collection includes personal care items, with plans for additional products in the future. Ellie emphasized that every aspect of the products, from packaging to scents and formulations, has been carefully tested and approved.
Jermaine Jenas, who was dismissed from his roles on Match Of The Day and The One Show after admitting to sending “inappropriate texts” to two BBC employees, is reportedly denying that the texts were unsolicited, stating they were between consenting adults. A source close to Jenas told The Sun that he is working hard to rebuild his marriage and support his children as they return to school. The source also noted that Jenas is deeply regretful for the pain he has caused. BBC claims suggest that after an initial complaint, other female staff members also reported similar issues.
Jermaine Jenas later issued a public apology to the two women he had texted, expressing deep remorse, stating, “I feel ashamed. I feel I’ve let everybody down.”
In addition to the earlier incidents, another woman has now alleged similar inappropriate behavior dating back to two years prior, during the World Cup in Qatar when Jenas was working with the BBC commentating team.
Following his dismissal from the BBC last month, Jenas directly apologized to his former female colleagues, acknowledging his regret and expressing that he was “genuinely sorry” for sending the inappropriate messages. He was instructed not to contact the women due to legal considerations but maintained that the communications were between “two consenting adults” and asserted that his actions were not illegal.
The former Match of the Day host reiterated his feelings of shame and disappointment, stating, “I feel ashamed. I feel I’ve let everybody down—friends, family, colleagues.”
Jermaine Jenas revealed that he has struggled with sleep since losing his job, noting that he has not taken any sleeping pills and often lies awake with anxiety. He expressed frustration, saying he would prefer to run until he collapses rather than deal with his restless nights.
Jenas also criticized the BBC’s handling of his dismissal, describing it as abrupt and poorly managed. He claimed that the announcement of his firing seemed disorganized, with different departments reportedly receiving conflicting information. He found the process to be “shocking” and felt the situation was mishandled.
