My beloved son was tragically murdered by an Afghan terror suspect who falsely claimed to be a child orphaned by the Taliban in order to gain entry into the United Kingdom. Unbeknownst to authorities, he had already committed two prior killings. This devastating loss has torn my family apart, and now the authorities are attempting to conceal the truth.
Peter Wallace remains deeply haunted by the final moments of his beloved stepson’s life.
Though Peter was not physically present outside the Subway branch on a Bournemouth street in the early hours of March 12, 2022, when 21-year-old Tom Roberts was fatally stabbed in the chest by Afghan migrant Lawangeen Abdulrahimzai, the tragedy weighs heavily on him.
Having embraced Tom into his life as a one-year-old after falling in love with the boy’s mother, Dolores, Peter has since viewed the CCTV footage of the horrific event—images now etched into his memory.
Peter can vividly recall every agonizing second of watching Tom, an aspiring Royal Marine, step in during a heated altercation between his friend and Lawangeen Abdulrahimzai over an e-scooter.
“I watched the CCTV of his last moments, and the final thing he did was extend his arms between the killer—I can’t bear to say his name—and his friend,” Peter says.
“The fact that Tommy had both arms stretched out meant he wasn’t protecting his body. The killer immediately reached into his trousers, pulled out a knife, and stabbed him.”
