Authorities in Los Angeles have disclosed the cause of death for Lucy-Bleu Knight, Slash’s stepdaughter, who died on July 19 at the age of 25. The Los Angeles County medical examiner reported that the cause of death was hydrogen sulfide toxicity, with the manner of death ruled as suicide.
Officials noted that Knight was found unresponsive at a private residence during a welfare check conducted by law enforcement and was pronounced dead at 3 p.m. local time.
A deputy medical examiner conducted the examination on July 22, certifying the cause of death as hydrogen sulfide toxicity on Thursday, according to officials.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention describes hydrogen sulfide as “a colorless, flammable, highly toxic gas.” Acute exposure to this gas can cause symptoms such as nausea, headaches, delirium, disturbed equilibrium, tremors, convulsions, and irritation of the skin and eyes.
