John Aprea, known for his roles in “The Godfather Part II” and “Full House,” has passed away from natural causes, according to information obtained by TMZ
According to his manager, Will Levine, John Aprea passed away on August 7 at his home in Los Angeles, surrounded by family. Aprea considered his portrayal of young Salvatore Tessio in “The Godfather Part II” as the pinnacle of his career. Interestingly, he had originally auditioned for the role of Michael Corleone in the first “Godfather” film, a role that ultimately went to Al Pacino. However, director Francis Ford Coppola later cast Aprea in the 1974 sequel.
John Aprea’s successful career began with a notable debut in 1968, appearing in the classic film “Bullitt” alongside Steve McQueen.
