Matt Lucas took a savage swipe at Millie Bobby Brown on Wednesday after her recent “mommy makeover.” The 21-year-old actress was seen holding hands with her younger sister, Ava Brown, following a family dinner at the Italian restaurant Mother Wolf in Los Angeles.
However, Little Britain creator Matt wasted no time in taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) to compare Millie’s new look to his infamous chav character, Vicky Pollard, who is known for her signature blonde hair and pink tracksuit. The comparison sparked a flurry of reactions, with some finding it humorous and others criticizing his sharp remark.
Re-sharing images of the Stranger Things star, Matt Lucas posted Vicky Pollard’s iconic catchphrase, “No but yeah but,” alongside the photos. The comedian made the comparison between Millie’s pink tracksuit zip-up hoodie and pink pig slippers to Vicky’s signature ensemble.
Millie, who had recently dyed her hair blonde, styled it in a Pamela Anderson-inspired updo with a fake fringe, completing her look with large silver hoop earrings. The playful swipe quickly generated reactions, with some finding the comparison amusing, while others critiqued the comment.
Fans quickly flooded the comments with memes of Vicky Pollard, joking that Matt now knows “who to cast as Vicky’s daughter” if there were ever a reboot of Little Britain. Some playful comments included: “At least you know who to cast as one of Vicky’s daughters if you do a revival; V to the P to the icky to the ollard!!” and “She’s auditioning for the part as a younger person.” Others echoed similar thoughts, with one fan remarking, “I was thinking that as soon as I saw the photo!” and another adding, “No but yer but no but yer but.”
Some fans couldn’t resist pointing out how Millie’s outfit resembled Vicky’s iconic style, including her pink slippers worn out in public, with one remarking, “Looks like she just looooooves the Vicky Pollard look. Even down to wearing her slippers out in public, like a proper chav.”
Little Britain, the sketch comedy show co-created by Matt and David Walliams, ran for three series on the BBC from 2003 to 2006. Vicky Pollard’s catchphrase “Yeah but no but yeah but” was once voted the funniest television catchphrase.
In related news, plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Banwell speculated to MailOnline on Tuesday that Millie’s enhanced cheekbones and fuller lips could be the result of fillers, cautioning that overuse of injectables could lead to a “pillow face.”
This comes after Millie confirmed her desire to play Britney Spears in a movie, adding another layer to her evolving career.
For several days, Enola Holmes star Millie Bobby Brown has been sharing Instagram photos where she channels the blonde bombshell look of Britney Spears, leading fans to speculate that Millie might be auditioning for the role of the Toxic singer in a biopic. Millie has now confirmed that she is very interested in stepping into Spears’ platform heels for a tell-all film based on Spears’ best-selling memoir, The Woman In Me.
In an interview with ET, Millie said, “Nothing would make me happier than being able to play such an iconic, beautiful person. I leave that to the Gods.” She also expressed her enthusiasm during a chat with Access Hollywood, where she stated, “I would love nothing more than to be a part of her story,” adding, “I would want someone to bring it to life in the most beautiful way, and I’d always be open to that.”
This isn’t the first time Millie has shared her desire to portray Britney. Back in 2022, during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, she revealed that one of her dream roles was to play the pop star. Millie explained that she felt a connection to Britney’s story, citing their shared experience of “growing up in public” and saying she could relate to Britney when watching old interviews with the singer.
After a dramatic bidding war, Universal Studios won the rights to produce the Britney biopic, with Wicked director Jon M. Chu set to helm the film following the release of the second part of Wicked.#newsafro_
