Jacqueline Jossa has publicly criticized In The Style, demanding “payment for what she is owed” after reportedly engaging legal counsel, as the fashion retailer faces potential administration. The 32-year-old EastEnders actress is said to be seeking the recovery of an outstanding “five-figure sum” related to her collaboration with the brand. Jacqueline entered into a partnership with the online fashion retailer in 2020, with the agreement believed to be valued at £1 million.
The situation has taken a significant turn, prompting the actress to publicly address In The Style via social media, after alleging that she has been unable to receive any response from the company. On Thursday, Jacqueline shared a statement on her Instagram stories, stating:
“After four wonderful years working with In The Style, I never anticipated that my time with the brand would conclude in this manner. However, as neither I nor my team can get a response from anyone at the company, the decision has, unfortunately, been made for me. My name and image continue to be prominently featured across the website, assisting the brand in selling stock, yet I have not received payment for months.”
Jacqueline further expressed her concerns, stating:
“I see them bringing in new faces and launching new collections, and I feel it’s my responsibility to warn the new girls that their contracts are unlikely to be honored, and they too may not be paid. After I threatened to speak out, the Managing Director requested a call with me during one of the busiest weeks of my career, during EE Live, and had the disrespect to not show up. My team and I waited on the call for 20 minutes before we ultimately logged off. Since then, he has failed to respond to any emails.”
She clarified that, despite never having publicly criticized any brand in the past, she can no longer remain silent about a company that she believes is disrespecting her and other individuals who have also not been compensated.
“I just wanted to part on good terms and be paid what I’m owed. If anyone is experiencing the same treatment, please feel free to DM me. In the meantime, girls, I urge you to think twice before shopping there!”
Jacqueline also pointed out, “As you probably know, I haven’t posted about them since before Christmas. They’re still using my images and selling my collections… I have no idea where the money is going, but it’s all very strange.”
She concluded by thanking former CEO Adam Frisby, who stepped down in December 2023, and his partner Jamie Corbett, acknowledging their role in her positive experience with the brand.
“Thank you, Adam and Jamie, for starting this journey. When you were involved, it was a blast, and we had four incredible years. @ft15by, thank you for the memories and amazing experiences. I’m genuinely sorry this had to happen to your beautiful business—I’m truly gutted for everyone. I had an incredible time working with In The Style when you both were involved. We went on trips together, did amazing things—it really was a dream come true.”#newsafro_
