Liam Payne‘s devastated family reportedly feels that “justice is possible” as five suspects face charges in connection with his death.
Among the accused is a hotel receptionist, charged with manslaughter for allegedly having the One Direction star “dragged” to his room when he was unable to stand.
Additionally, Payne’s close friend, Rogelio “Roger” Nores, is also facing manslaughter charges for reportedly “abandoning him to his fate,” knowing that Payne was unable to care for himself due to his struggles with multiple addictions, according to court documents.
After enduring a heartbreaking first Christmas without their son, Liam Payne’s parents may finally see justice in the coming weeks.
A family friend told The Sun: “It’s been a very difficult Christmas for them, but they now just want justice for their son.
“Finally, after a horrific couple of months, there is a sense that this could be possible.”
Liam Payne tragically passed away on October 16 after falling from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires. Judge Laura Bruniard has stated that Liam’s friend, Rogelio “Roger” Nores, failed to fulfill his duties of care, assistance, and help toward the singer, as he allegedly abandoned him knowing that Liam was unable to care for himself due to his addiction issues. The judge emphasized that Nores should have consulted a doctor rather than relying on hotel staff.
While Judge Bruniard noted that there was no evidence that Nores or the hotel staff intended to harm Liam, she indicated that their actions contributed to the “risk” to his life.
Five people have been charged, with the following accusations outlined in court documents:
Rogelio “Roger” Nores (RLN) is charged with manslaughter for allegedly failing to provide necessary care for Payne, despite knowing his vulnerabilities.
Ezequiel Pereyra (EDP), a hotel employee, is accused of selling cocaine to Payne on October 15 and 16.
Braian Paiz (BNP), a waiter, is also accused of selling cocaine to Payne on October 14.
Gilda Martín (GAM), the hotel manager, is charged with manslaughter for allegedly allowing Payne to be taken to his room despite the risks posed by the balcony.
Esteban Grassi (ERG), the chief receptionist, is also accused of manslaughter for reportedly asking three people to drag Payne to his room when he was unable to stand, instead of ensuring his safety until help arrived.
The case centers around WhatsApp messages exchanged between Liam and an Argentine waiter, which have emerged as key evidence. On Monday, Judge Bruniard confirmed that prosecutions would proceed based on evidence provided by prosecutors.
The investigation into Liam Payne’s tragic death has revealed significant details about the circumstances leading to his fall from a balcony at the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16. Five individuals, including Payne’s friend Rogelio “Roger” Nores, hotel manager Gilda Martin, receptionist Esteban Grassi, hotel employee Ezequiel Pereyra, and waiter Braian Paiz, have been charged in connection with the incident.
Prosecutors allege that Nores failed in his duty of care to Payne, abandoning him despite knowing about his addiction issues and vulnerable state. Nores is accused of negligent homicide for not seeking medical help for Payne, who was under the influence and unable to care for himself. According to Judge Laura Bruniard, Nores, along with Martin and Grassi, contributed to creating a risk to Payne’s life by allowing him to be taken to his room instead of ensuring his safety.
Further accusations focus on the drug supply. Pereyra and Paiz are alleged to have sold cocaine to Payne in the days leading up to his death. Paiz, in particular, is accused of supplying the drug twice on October 14. Despite his lawyer’s defense, who claimed that Paiz only took drugs with Payne and did not sell him any, prosecutors argue that evidence, including WhatsApp messages and hotel footage, indicates otherwise.
Judge Bruniard’s ruling emphasized the imprudence of the hotel staff and Nores in allowing Payne to be taken to his room while in such a compromised state, stating that proper action should have involved keeping Payne in a safe place until medical help arrived.
The investigation continues as the court moves forward with these charges, seeking justice for the tragic loss of the 34-year-old singer.
