Khloe Kardashian missed her family’s annual Christmas Eve party to care for her children, True, 6, and Tatum, 2, who were unwell during the holiday season.
In a series of Instagram Stories shared Thursday, the 40-year-old reality star explained her absence while wishing her 305 million followers a Merry Christmas.
Khloe, who shares her children with ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson, 33, prioritized her kids’ health over the festive celebration, staying home to ensure they were looked after.
Khloe Kardashian reflected on her holiday experience in a candid update shared on Instagram Stories, expressing her love for Christmas despite the unusual circumstances this year.
Dressed in a black hoodie while working out, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star explained that she missed the family’s Christmas Eve gathering due to her son Tatum’s illness.
“It was a great one for sure—I just love holidays and Christmas—but different,” she shared, adding, “I didn’t get to make it to the Christmas Eve party, which was a bummer, but it wasn’t really a party this year—it was just us hanging out at Kendall’s house.”
Khloe, the youngest of the Kardashian sisters, shared that her 2-year-old son had been very sick the weekend before but had recovered in time for Christmas. Despite missing the event, she was relieved that Tatum was “perfect and great” for the holiday itself.
Khloe Kardashian opened up about the difficult experience of nursing her children back to health over the holidays.
“True has had a 105 fever … but now, she’s just starting to feel better,” she shared, describing the ordeal as “really scary” and “horrible.”
Despite the challenges, Khloe found solace in her mom Kris Jenner’s nearby home, where she took her kids to ensure they were comfortable. “We were able to go to my mom’s house next door, and True got some rest there,” she said.
Khloe expressed relief that both her children, True and Tatum, were recovering and could enjoy the holidays after their illnesses.
Khloe Kardashian shared a heartfelt update on how she balanced caring for her sick daughter, True, while keeping the Christmas spirit alive.
“Yesterday, we still all hung out at my mom’s,” Khloe said, explaining how True rested in another room while she cooked breakfast. “We still wanted to be around the Christmas spirit.”
Khloe revealed she gave True her “Santa toys” once her daughter started feeling better. “Poor thing … that’s when you know your kid is sick, when Santa toys don’t even excite them,” she said. “I’m so happy she’s feeling better.”
The reality star apologized for not wishing her fans a merry Christmas earlier, explaining she was busy with True and focused on being present with family.
“I love you guys and I hope you have a beautiful, beautiful time in the year’s final week,” Khloe concluded warmly.
