Tiger Woods is back on social media with an emotional Memorial Day tribute, marking his first public statement since his DUI arrest and rehab announcement earlier this year.
The golf superstar shared a heartfelt message Monday honoring fallen service members while paying tribute to his late father, Earl Woods, a former U.S. Army Special Forces operator who served two tours in Vietnam.
In the patriotic post, Tiger reflected on his father’s 20 years of military service and thanked veterans and fallen heroes for their sacrifices, saying their dedication helped shape America into “the greatest country on Earth.”
Tiger’s girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, later reshared the message online in a public show of support as the golf legend continues his recovery process.
The post comes nearly two months after Woods announced he would be stepping away from public life to seek treatment following his March DUI arrest in Florida.
Tiger was charged with two misdemeanors related to the incident, including DUI with property damage and refusing to submit to a lawful test. Despite the charges, reports stated the golfer recorded a 0.00% BAC on breathalyzer tests following the arrest.
Shortly after the incident, Woods reportedly received permission to travel overseas for inpatient treatment and has since been staying in Switzerland during rehab. Reports also claim he recently returned briefly to Florida before flying back to Switzerland aboard his private jet.#newsafro_
