Singer Amerie’s financial details have been revealed as part of her ongoing divorce proceedings with her ex-husband, Lenny Nicholson, according to court documents obtained in the case.
The final divorce judgment shows that the former couple did not own any real estate or maintain joint bank accounts at the time of their split. Amerie, best known for her hit song “1 Thing,” was awarded full ownership of several of her business entities, including Amerie Inc., Cer One Touring, and Mi Suk Publishing, along with a 2016 Range Rover.
As part of the ruling, Nicholson was ordered to return Amerie’s TV tracks and an external hard drive containing her music files that were reportedly in his possession.
The court also ordered Nicholson to pay $2,298 per month in child support. Amerie was granted primary physical custody of their son, while Nicholson will have parenting time every third weekend.
In filings, Amerie listed their marriage date as June 25, 2011, and stated the couple had been separated since April 2024, describing the marriage as “irretrievably broken.”
Nicholson, however, painted a different picture in his response, claiming he worked for over two decades as Amerie’s manager, tour producer, performance director, and business strategist. He alleged he was not fully compensated for his contributions during the marriage and argued he was entitled to a share of royalties, merchandise, and publishing income.
He also accused Amerie of leaving the marital home while he was recovering from surgery, claiming he was left to cover significant expenses, including $44,000 in rent. Nicholson further alleged she spent $20,000 on cosmetic surgery and took luxury trips, while continuing to use his marketing strategies without credit.
In his filing, Nicholson requested $1.75 million in unpaid commissions, $150,000 in damages, spousal support, and additional relief.
Ultimately, the court determined Amerie’s estimated monthly income to be $5,735, while Nicholson’s was set at $10,000 per month, bringing some clarity to the financial breakdown at the center of the dispute.
Amerie first publicly confirmed the split in an interview in June 2025.#newsafro_
