Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has officially been recognized as a three-time Guinness World Records titleholder. The most recent acknowledgment follows the verification that her September 2025 achievement for the “Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice” also qualified as the record for the “Largest serving of rice” overall.
Baci, who previously set the record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice in September 2025 by preparing 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of the dish during a Lagos cookout, announced the additional recognition via her Instagram account, updating her biography to reflect her status as a “Chef X3 Guinness World Record Holder.”
Guinness World Records confirmed the dual recognition in correspondence from Andrew Fanning, Head of Client Partnering – Records Creative Team, noting that her original record attempt satisfied the criteria for both titles.
This latest accomplishment represents Baci’s third Guinness World Record, following her 2025 jollof rice record and a prior record set in May 2023, when she completed a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon, making her the first Nigerian chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.
Baci credited her team, particularly collaborator @oreoluwa_atinmo, for their integral role in the record-breaking efforts. She also expressed gratitude to Guinness World Records, supporters, and her faith for guiding her throughout the process.
The recognition further establishes Baci as one of Nigeria’s most decorated culinary professionals and highlights the scale and global reach of Nigerian cuisine.#newsafro_
