Former Big Brother Naija contestant and media personality Anita Natacha Akide, professionally known as “Tacha,” has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as a world record holder, securing two new titles for the most cosmetic makeovers completed within eight hours and 24 hours, respectively.
The recognition was formally announced by Guinness World Records via its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, which stated:
“Congratulations to @Symply_Tacha who set TWO new @GWR titles for the most cosmetic makeovers in eight hours and 24 hours.”
According to reports by PUNCH Online, the record-breaking feat was achieved during the Tacha Beauty Festival, which took place from October 10 to 12, 2025, at the John Randle Center for Yorùbá Culture & History in Lagos.
Guinness World Records verified that Tacha successfully completed 82 cosmetic makeovers within eight hours and subsequently achieved 144 makeovers within 24 hours, surpassing previous benchmarks in both categories.
The 29-year-old entrepreneur and influencer shared an emotional response on her Instagram page, dedicating the milestone to her team, supporters, and her late mother. She attributed the accomplishment to “grace, persistence, and the unwavering support of my team and fans who refused to let me quit,” adding that they “smiled, talked, cried, and hyped me till the very last second.”
In her reflective post, she emphasized the challenges behind the achievement, writing:
“The world sees the headline, but God and I know the trenches: sleepless nights, generator hum, prayers at 3 AM, swollen feet, shaky hands—and grace that does not lie.”
Speaking to Guinness World Records, Tacha described her motivation as being rooted in creativity and representation:
“The idea of daring to be different drove me. Makeup has always fascinated me since childhood. This record was born from that same spirit — resilience, courage, and the will to stand out. I wanted to show that Nigerian women can achieve anything they put their minds to, that creativity is powerful, and that African women deserve global recognition.”
Addressing her supporters directly, she expressed gratitude and inspiration:
“To everyone who called, pulled up, re-posted, and believed before they saw it — thank you. The same God who did this for me knows the secret prayers in your heart, and He will answer you double.”
In a closing note, she encouraged dreamers to embrace adversity:
“Do not stop. If you don’t have haters, pray for haters because they’ll push you into purpose. While they hate, I chase destiny and win. My first name is Anita; it means gracious. And grace is loud on my life.”#newsafro_
