A representative for Sean “Diddy” Combs has issued a formal response to allegations suggesting that the music mogul was found consuming alcohol while in federal custody at the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Addressing the claims—first reported by TMZ, which alleged that Mr. Combs, aged fifty-six, had been caught drinking a homemade fermented mixture of Fanta, sugar, and apples—the spokesperson categorically denied any misconduct, affirming that Mr. Combs “has not violated any prison rules.”
The representative further stated: “His sobriety and self-discipline are priorities, and he is taking them seriously.” The spokesperson added that Mr. Combs has only recently begun serving his sentence at FCI Fort Dix, noting: “This is only his first week at the facility, and unfortunately, rumors will surface throughout his time there.”
In a plea for restraint, the representative urged: “We ask the public and the press to give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth, and the grace to move forward in peace.”
A separate statement briefly appeared on Mr. Combs’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday before being removed. It read: “The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false. His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”
Mr. Combs is currently serving a four-year, two-month federal prison sentence following his July prostitution-related conviction. On October 30, he was transferred from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to FCI Fort Dix—a facility his legal team specifically requested due to its substance abuse rehabilitation programs and proximity to his family.
In a prior statement submitted to U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, who presided over his sentencing, Mr. Combs emphasized his ongoing commitment to rehabilitation, writing: “I’m on a journey that will take time and hard work. I’m proud to say I’m working harder than I ever have before. I’m committed to the journey of remaining a drug-free, non-violent, and peaceful person. I thank God that I’m stronger, wiser, clean, clear, and sober. God makes no mistakes.”#newsafro_
