Ms. Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has enacted a significant alteration to the staging of her Cowboy Carter tour, following a harrowing incident that occurred during a prior performance. The change comes just weeks after the artist, aged 43, was left suspended midair due to a malfunction during a high-risk stunt.
The multi–Grammy Award-winning performer unveiled the revised stage element during her concert at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Thursday, where she introduced a new mechanical gold horse, which she rode as part of the show’s choreography.
This updated element replaces the previously used red Cadillac convertible, which had been designed to elevate and suspend over the audience during performances. However, during the June 28 show in Houston, the vehicle reportedly began to tilt unexpectedly while airborne, prompting Ms. Knowles-Carter to halt the performance out of an abundance of caution.
In response to the prior incident, Ms. Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has since introduced a modified performance element to her Cowboy Carter tour, debuting the revised staging this week. The adjustment features a mechanical gold horse that ascends into the air during the performance.
Ms. Knowles-Carter is notably seated on the airborne prop while delivering a live rendition of her country-inspired track, 16 Carriages.
It should be noted that this is not the first occasion on which the performer has incorporated an equine-themed prop into her stage production, as the use of horse imagery has featured in previous live performances.#newsafro_
