On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, a funeral procession in the Idimu area of Alimosho Local Government, Lagos State, was disrupted by a vehicular accident that resulted in injuries to five individuals. The incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. when a mini commercial bus transporting a corpse from Ejigbo to Ikotun experienced brake failure near the Idimu bus stop. The malfunction caused the driver to lose control, leading to a collision with another vehicle in the convoy.
According to reports from PUNCH Metro, the incident took place at approximately 10:00 a.m. and resulted in injuries to five individuals—three females and two males—who sustained varying degrees of harm.
The mourners were en route from Ejigbo to Ikotun, traveling in a convoy consisting of three mini-buses and one Toyota space bus when the crash occurred. The convoy was part of a funeral procession at the time of the incident.
Upon approaching the Idimu bus stop area, the minibus transporting the corpse reportedly experienced brake failure, resulting in the driver losing control and colliding with the vehicle directly ahead within the funeral convoy.
An eyewitness identified simply as Foluke stated that the drivers of both the affected minibuses sustained injuries in the incident.
She recounted: “Some buses were picking up passengers at the layby when the minibus suddenly rammed into another. The force of the impact caused several individuals to fall from the vehicle, leading to multiple injuries.”#newsafro_
