Scottish radio DJ Lynne Hoggan has been rushed to hospital for major surgery after suffering a “sizeable bleed on her brain.”
Hoggan — who presents shows across Clyde 1, Forth 1, Tay FM, Northsound 1, and MFR — is currently recovering after doctors discovered two aneurysms and multiple brain bleeds. She has since undergone surgery, during which stents were inserted into her brain.
Her family has shared that she remains in hospital and is in the early stages of recovery, with limited ability to communicate. Supporters have flooded social media with well-wishes, as fans await further updates on her condition.
Following surgery and the insertion of stents, Lynne Hoggan’s family has shared that she still has a “long way to go” in her recovery and will remain in hospital for some time.
In a statement posted to her Instagram account, a relative wrote:
“Lynne still has a long way to go and will be in hospital for a while and is unable to communicate properly at the moment whilst she is recovering.
“She appreciates all the love and support and will be in touch with all the individuals who have reached out to her once she is better.”
Messages of support have continued to pour in from listeners and colleagues, with many praising Lynne’s strength and sending wishes for a full recovery.
Lynne Hoggan’s sister-in-law, Rachel, has shared further updates on the Clyde 1 DJ’s condition at Lynne’s own request.
In a message posted to Instagram, Rachel wrote:
“A little life update – from Lynne’s sister-in-law Rachel (as instructed by Lynne herself).
Appreciate a lot of you have been messaging Lynne and wondering where she has been lately.
Unfortunately, a week ago, she took unwell and it turned out to be a sizeable bleed on the brain which was 2 aneurysms.
She has now had surgery and stents put in her brain and is recovering in the best care possible.”
Rachel also added:
“If anyone needs anything or wants me to pass anything on to Lynne, please just get in touch.”
As Lynne recovers, her family continues to express gratitude for the outpouring of support. Friends, fans, and colleagues have been flooding her Instagram with heartfelt get well soon messages.
An aneurysm, as noted, is a bulge in a weakened area of a blood vessel wall—often forming where the vessel branches. If it ruptures, it can cause a dangerous and life-threatening bleed on the brain.
Lynne remains in hospital under careful observation, with a long road to recovery ahead.#newsafro_
