Eyewitnesses reported that the driver, who appeared intoxicated, lost control of the vehicle, striking over 100 soldiers and civilians around 7 a.m. The impact caused the officer to somersault, while others suffered broken arms and legs.
Lt. Col. Olabisi Ayeni, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, confirmed the incident, stating that the deceased’s body has been taken to a mortuary, and the injured are receiving treatment at the 68 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Yaba.
