Galatasaray’s pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has gained momentum, with the club reportedly securing a sponsorship deal to cover 70% of the transfer fee.
According to Turkish outlet Milliyet, Galatasaray is negotiating to reduce the €75 million asking price to €70 million and has engaged two major companies in Turkey, one of which has agreed to finance the transfer in exchange for the club paying the remaining 30%. Napoli is said to require €25 million upfront, with the balance payable in two installments, prompting Galatasaray to expedite their search for funding.
The urgency intensified after Fenerbahçe, through coach Jose Mourinho, expressed interest in the Nigerian striker. While Osimhen’s earlier statement, “I am very happy here,” offered initial reassurance to Galatasaray, the club is now focused on convincing Napoli to finalize the sale.
Fenerbahçe has also entered the race for Victor Osimhen, leveraging agent Mirsad Türkcan to explore funding options for the transfer. Türkcan has reportedly initiated negotiations with potential sponsors, securing positive responses from organizations willing to support the move. Despite this progress, Fenerbahçe has yet to meet with Osimhen directly but hopes to capitalize on its strong relationship with Napoli, established during the Eljif Elmas transfer, to gain an advantage.
Osimhen represents a significant investment, with a reported transfer fee of €75 million and an annual earnings package of €12 million, including image rights. Over three seasons, the acquiring club would need to commit €36 million in wages.
On Galatasaray’s end, President Dursun Özbek is spearheading efforts to finalize the deal with a dedicated team, including Kavukcu and Buruk. They plan to meet with George Gardi in Italy to strategize and advance negotiations with Napoli. The competition between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe underscores the high stakes of securing Osimhen’s signature.
