Katie Piper appeared in high spirits as she left the Pride of Britain Awards, hand-in-hand with her husband, Richard James Sutton. The couple looked joyful after the event, where Piper had earlier addressed a cruel troll who had made hurtful comments online.
Piper, known for her resilience and advocacy for burn survivors, has been vocal about her experiences and the impact of online bullying. Her positive demeanor at the awards reflects her strength in overcoming negativity and celebrating achievements.
To enhance her appearance, the beauty elegantly styled her blonde hair in an updo, complemented by a flawless makeup palette as she left the venue.
Her husband, Richard, 41, looked dapper in a black-and-white tuxedo, walking hand-in-hand with her as he escorted her to their taxi.
The outing follows Katie’s recent confrontation with a vile troll on Instagram who cruelly told her to “jump out a window” to end her suffering.
This attack comes after she endured severe facial burns and lost sight in one eye due to an acid attack by her ex-boyfriend Daniel Lynch and accomplice Stefan Sylvestre in 2008.
Katie shared a screenshot of the cruel comment and acknowledged that, although she typically avoids highlighting such negativity, this one was “beyond anything” she could bear and contributed to her “heavy load.”
The exchange began when a follower asked, “Where’s your nose?” to which Katie responded, “Being pulled into my face by thick scar tissue; it’s incredibly painful.” The commenter then replied, “Yep, it’s cool, but my nose is normal. I wish you to stop suffering as soon as possible. I recommend that you go out the window, preferably on the 10th-11th floor; perhaps this will ease your suffering,” followed by laughing emojis.
In her response, Katie wrote, “After completing my run this morning, feeling already depleted because of my bad time, I opened my phone to this. I can handle most things, but sometimes it adds to an already heavy load you are carrying. You never know how people are feeling, what they’re going through, how their days are, and even if you did, the only person we’re judging because of this comment is you.”
“I wouldn’t usually call this out so personally, but this is beyond anything even I can handle. This behavior should always be addressed; people need to do better,” Katie stated.
She continued, “This is not OK, and it will never be OK. If you can write anything negative online and press ‘post,’ you are a special type of person. Publishing hate into the world hurts everyone, including yourself. Don’t comment on my appearance, don’t threaten my life; get off the internet and stay quiet.”
Fans and famous friends quickly rallied to Katie’s defense, with co-star Coleen Nolan commenting, “Oh god, Katie, this is so vile! I think these kinds of people have no life, no friends, and would prefer hate towards them than nothing at all. I’m trying to feel sorry for this sad individual, but I’m finding it really difficult. You, on the other hand, are one of the most beautiful individuals I’ve ever met. Never let anyone dull your shine.”
