Coleen Nolan, a close friend of Ruth Langsford, has commended Langsford for maintaining ‘dignity’ throughout her separation. Meanwhile, Eamonn Holmes, Langsford’s ex-partner, has faced backlash from fans for a ‘disrespectful’ photograph featuring himself alongside an A-list actress.
Coleen Nolan has lauded her close friend Ruth Langsford for her ‘dignified’ demeanor following her separation from husband Eamonn Holmes.
Ruth, 64, and Eamonn, also 64, ended their 14-year marriage in May. Recently, Eamonn was seen engaging in public displays of affection with his new girlfriend, Katie Alexander, 42, in Ibiza.
Ruth made her return to ITV’s Loose Women last week after a four-month hiatus. Her co-star Coleen has praised Ruth for her grace in managing the situation.
“From a friend’s perspective, I must say I’ve never encountered anyone who has managed such a situation with as much dignity and pride,” Coleen, who has experienced two divorces herself, commented.
She further remarked, “She’s such a lady—far more of a lady than I could ever be. I would have been more candid by now.”
“I’ve given her advice, but she doesn’t seem to heed it. I keep wondering, ‘How can you not say anything?’ But I suppose I don’t need to give her advice,” she revealed to Woman Magazine.
Meanwhile, Eamonn Holmes has faced criticism from fans over a perceived ‘disrespectful’ Instagram post this week.
After years of ‘social media friendship,’ Eamonn finally met his idol, actress Kate Beckinsale, with the two posing for a cheerful photo together on Monday. Beckinsale, 51, who has recently dealt with various health issues, encountered the GB News presenter at a London Fashion Week event.
Eamonn shared the photo on his Instagram with the caption: “After years of being SM friends, an ambition fulfilled tonight with the wonderful actress @KateBeckinsale.”
Eamonn Holmes, who had not updated his Instagram grid for over a month before posting the photo with Kate Beckinsale, received a flood of critical comments.
Some followers, unfamiliar with Beckinsale, expressed their discontent. One wrote: “Ruth has shown so much dignity. Eamonn is disrespectful flaunting his floozy!” Another added: “You have destroyed Ruth and your beautiful son Jack; I don’t think you will find happiness.” A third comment read: “Publicity stunt! Nothing more! Grow up, Eamonn. Trying to make your wife jealous with a younger model! Cringe.”
Despite the backlash, many defended Eamonn, with one commenter stating: “Jeez people, it’s his friend. He is allowed friends—no need to be nasty on here.”
Eamonn returned to the UK on Sunday with his girlfriend, Katie Alexander, following a luxury romantic getaway.
