Terry’s Chocolate Orange, a cherished treat and a staple in many UK households during Christmas, first appeared on supermarket shelves in 1932. The product, known for its orange-flavored segments, has garnered a massive following. However, loyal fans are now in an uproar following the York-based chocolate company’s unveiling of its latest product.
The new Terry’s Chocolate Milk Ball, which mimics the segment style of the classic Orange product but features a different flavor, has stirred controversy among fans. Set to hit major UK retailers in October for £2, the confectionery is essentially a chocolate orange without the orange flavor, humorously termed a ‘norange’.
The introduction of the new Chocolate Milk Ball follows the success of Terry’s Chocolate Mint Ball, which sold out mid-season last year after its Christmas launch. Lorène Decam, a spokesperson for Terry’s, commented on the new product, stating: “Terry’s is an institution, so anything we do needs to respect the love that people have for our products. The Chocolate Milk Ball is a way for all chocolate lovers to enjoy the unique novelty of a Terry’s ball.”
