Homeowners who paid £700,000 for properties on a luxury estate in Oxfordshire are expressing outrage after discovering numerous defects in their newly built homes. Residents are reporting significant issues, with one woman identifying 250 problems in her house, including a disturbing discovery in the loft. These buyers feel deceived, believing they were sold a false promise of quality and luxury.
Residents of the White Horse Meadows development near Banbury, Oxfordshire, where homes sell for up to £700,000, claim they were misled and are now living a nightmare. The development, featuring around 40 properties, many constructed with traditional sandstone quarried locally, was marketed as a standout luxury project.
Despite the developers, Kendrick Homes, boasting about their “commitment to quality, detail, design, and pride” and a “century of craftsmanship” behind their new build homes, residents are reporting a very different reality, expressing deep dissatisfaction with the quality of their homes.
Residents have shared with media agents that they feel trapped in a nightmarish situation involving crumbling construction, shocking discoveries like stray bottles of urine, and even boundary disputes before they’ve fully settled in. Some homeowners have been accused of requesting too many extras, while others report being regularly spoken to disrespectfully by site managers, further exacerbating their frustrations with the development.
