Oscar-nominated actor Mickey Rourke, 73, is reportedly facing potential eviction from his Los Angeles residence due to alleged nonpayment of rent totaling approximately $59,100. According to court documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Rourke was served with a statutory three-day notice on December 18, 2025, requiring him either to remit the overdue rent or vacate the premises. The notice was posted at the property after Rourke was reportedly not present to accept service.
The complaint, filed by plaintiff Eric T. Goldie, seeks the unpaid rent, attorney’s fees, and termination of the lease, which, if granted, would prevent Rourke from continuing to reside at the property regardless of payment. The leased residence, a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom home constructed in 1926 and previously occupied by crime novelist Raymond Chandler in the 1940s, is located in Los Angeles’ Beverly Grove neighborhood near The Grove shopping center and the Farmer’s Market. Rourke entered into the lease on March 30, initially paying $5,200 per month, with rent reportedly increased to $7,000 per month beginning in his second month of occupancy.
This legal matter follows earlier public controversies involving Rourke. In April 2025, he was removed from Celebrity Big Brother UK due to alleged use of inappropriate and homophobic language directed at fellow contestant JoJo Siwa. The incidents reportedly included comments regarding Siwa’s sexuality and remarks that drew widespread social media criticism.
Rourke established a prominent career in Hollywood during the 1980s, with leading roles in Diner (1982), Rumble Fish (1983), 9½ Weeks (1986), and Angel Heart (1987). After a series of under-performing films in the early 1990s, he temporarily withdrew from acting to pursue professional boxing, a career that resulted in significant physical injury requiring reconstructive surgery and altering his appearance.
He resumed acting in smaller projects before achieving critical acclaim with his performance in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008), earning a BAFTA, Golden Globe Award, and an Academy Award nomination. Subsequent roles included portraying the antagonist Whiplash in Iron Man 2, followed by appearances in primarily low-budget films.
As of this filing, Rourke’s representatives and the plaintiff’s counsel have not provided public comment regarding the eviction proceedings.#newsafro_
