At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, a fire incident along the Epe–Ijebu-Ode Expressway in the Eredo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State resulted in the destruction of five vehicles. According to reports, a 45,000-litre diesel tanker, bearing registration number KWK 833 SK, lost control while ascending a hilly section of the expressway, overturned, and subsequently ignited, spilling its contents onto the roadway.
The fire spread rapidly, engulfing four other vehicles that were parked nearby, identified as a Mazda, a Nissan, a Honda Accord, and a Toyota Hilux. Eyewitness accounts corroborated the sequence of events and described significant property damage.
