Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, has publicly disclosed a change in his approach to managing online criticism and trolling.
In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account and reported by PUNCH Online on Tuesday, the award-winning musician stated that he no longer blocks detractors, opting instead to allow them continued access to his posts and career updates.
He wrote: “Me I no dey block … I wan make u dey see my doings… but I go curse your papa.”
As one of Africa’s most prominent entertainers, Davido has amassed millions of followers across multiple platforms, making him a frequent subject of both acclaim and criticism. His personal life has equally attracted public attention, including his highly publicized marriage to longtime partner Chioma Avril Rowland in August 2025. The couple held a $3.7 million white wedding in Miami, following a traditional ceremony in Lagos (2024) and a court wedding (2023). The Miami ceremony was marked by emotional tributes, including Davido’s wearing of cufflinks engraved with the image of their late son.
With a career spanning more than a decade and international hits such as Fall, If, and Unavailable, Davido has established himself as a central figure in the global rise of Afrobeats. Beyond his artistry, he is widely recognized for his philanthropy, public candor, and luxury lifestyle.
His latest remarks underscore a deliberate shift in his response to online negativity — prioritizing transparency and visibility over disengagement, while still confronting insults directly.#newsafro_
