Sydney Sweeney’s recently launched advertising campaign for American Eagle has elicited significant public response, garnering attention from both fans and financial analysts. In response to the high-profile campaign, Los Angeles-based comedian Michael Pavano released a satirical parody that has been met with widespread approval from his audience.
Pavano, who is known for incorporating drag elements into his comedic performances on social media, shared the parody video across his Instagram and TikTok platforms, which together boast over 1.1 million followers. Within two hours of posting on Monday, the spoof accumulated more than 13,000 likes.
In an exclusive statement to Daily Mail, Pavano expressed appreciation for the positive reception: “So far the sketch has been received very well. I’m always super grateful when people can see the hard work I put into my characters and comedy.”
Michael Pavano, who previously appeared on the television series Big Top earlier this year, shared the parody clip with the caption “gripping all the right places,” accompanied by jeans and heart emojis, as well as hashtags including #satire, #parody, and #impressions.
In the video, Pavano wore a coordinated purple denim outfit, a dark brown wig, and humorously incorporated a pair of balloons for visual comedic effect. The clip featured a voiceover in which Pavano delivered a series of deliberately exaggerated and incoherent statements regarding genetics, further enhancing the satirical nature of the performance.
In the parody voiceover, comedian Michael Pavano satirized the intentional wordplay and double entendre present in Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle campaign, specifically targeting the overlap between the words “jeans” and “genes.”
“Jeans are passed down from parents to us, often determining traits like your hair color… and even eye color,” Pavano quipped, mimicking the style of pseudo-scientific marketing narration. He continued, “My jeans are blue—so they’re like, better than yours. They say people with blonde hair and blue eyes, their nature is favorite. I don’t say it, but they do—but I buy it!”
The monologue, intentionally vapid and overtly sexualized, served as a clear lampoon of the American Eagle campaign featuring Sweeney, which has generated notable public discourse in recent days.
Pavano extended the parody with exaggerated sensual commentary: “I mean, who wouldn’t want my jeans? I know you do, you dirty boy. Let’s be so real.” He added: “Tight blue jeans from American Eagle is the only denim I’ll put on my body—and it’s not just the denim that’s tight.”
Drawing on his experience as a veteran of The Groundlings comedy troupe, Pavano delivered further satirical lines, stating: “This pair of blue denim is clinging to me for dear life… I like it when they stretch super wide and slide right in—I mean, on.” He concluded with: “They hug all the right places—and some very wrong ones.”#newsafro_
