Meghan Markle extended her support to victims of the Los Angeles wildfires, offering comfort and solidarity during her visit. However, the moment was marred by a Fox News reporter’s on-air gaffe, mistakenly referring to the Duchess of Sussex by the wrong name. The slip quickly drew attention, overshadowing Meghan’s compassionate outreach efforts.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made an unannounced visit to a food bank on Friday, offering comfort to victims and first responders amid the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. The couple assisted with distributing food parcels to those affected at the Pasadena Convention Center, now serving as an evacuation hub.
During their visit, Harry and Meghan were seen embracing José Andrés, the founder of World Central Kitchen, an organization actively providing meals to those impacted by the devastating fires.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, dressed casually in a light blue shirt and baseball cap (Meghan) and a black shirt and cap (Harry), extended their support to victims and first responders of the LA wildfires during their visit to the Pasadena Convention Center. They also took time to console Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo, who described the couple as “great people with great personalities.”
“They really buoyed the spirits of the first responders,” Mayor Gordo said. “We visited the command post at the Rose Bowl, and people were very happy to see them.”
The visit was broadcast live on Fox News, where anchor Susan Hirasuna sparked online criticism by referring to Meghan as “Princess Markle” and suggesting she was “hanging out with the commoners.”
The couple’s outreach follows their decision to open their $29 million Montecito mansion to friends and loved ones displaced by the wildfires.
