Jennie Garth, known for her role in Beverly Hills 90210, was seen breaking down in tears after her ex-husband, Peter Facinelli, stepped in to offer her shelter during the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.
The emotional moment comes as the fires continue to threaten large areas, and many residents, including celebrities, have been forced to evacuate. In a show of support, Peter, who shares three daughters with Jennie, opened his home to her during this difficult time.
Jennie, visibly emotional, expressed her gratitude, appreciating the support from her ex-husband, with whom she maintains a positive relationship despite their past. The two have remained on amicable terms since their divorce in 2012 and continue to co-parent their children.
The generous gesture was captured in a heartfelt moment, reflecting the strength of their bond, even in challenging circumstances.
Jennie Garth, 52, tearfully shared on Thursday that her ex-husband, Peter Facinelli, 50, had taken her and her family in during the catastrophic wildfires sweeping through Los Angeles. The Beverly Hills, 90210 star expressed her gratitude, saying, “Peter and his family took us in and have been so kind.”
She continued, revealing that while her family home had been spared, the fires had caused significant concern, and she felt blessed to have the support of her ex-husband during such a traumatic time. Jennie’s emotional post highlighted the bond they continue to share, despite their divorce years ago, and the compassion Peter showed in offering shelter.
Jennie Garth, visibly grief-stricken, continued, “I am deeply saddened for our city and just feel numb.” While relieved that her home was spared, she acknowledged the overwhelming devastation and the daunting task of cleanup. “So much to clean up and ready to get active to help our neighbors and friends and fellow Angelinos,” she shared, expressing her determination to assist those affected by the fires.
Jennie also took a moment to praise her husband, Dave Abrams, for his unwavering support during the crisis. She said, “Dave has been amazing, transporting all our bags and boxes, loading and unloading,” highlighting his efforts in helping her and their family navigate the difficult situation.
Jennie Garth expressed her gratitude, stating, “I am grateful we are all ok and have a home to return to. This will affect people differently, so reach out, and offer to help, it really does mean so much.” She also thanked her supporters, adding, “Thank you for all the love that is being sent this way.”
Her ex-husband, Peter Facinelli, who is now engaged to Lily Anne Harrison, has become close with Jennie again in recent years, 12 years after their divorce. They met on the set of An Unfinished Affair in 1995, married in January 2001, but divorced in March 2012, with the separation finalized in June 2013. Facinelli and Harrison share a son, Jack, who is two years old.
Jennie shares three daughters—Luca, 27, Lola, 21, and Fiona, 18—with Facinelli. In October, she opened up about the emotional toll of two miscarriages she and her husband, Dave Abrams, experienced shortly after their wedding. The couple discussed this difficult period on her iHeartPodcast, I Choose Me with Jennie Garth.
Reflecting on her emotions, Jennie recalled feeling “ashamed” after the miscarriages, particularly because she couldn’t give Abrams the “baby boy” he had hoped for. She shared, “I think at that time, I was feeling really down on myself, really ashamed, feeling like I was disappointing you, like I wasn’t able to carry a pregnancy with you, who I loved.” Despite the heartache, Jennie acknowledged the love and support from Abrams, who had embraced her daughters from her previous marriage and become a wonderful stepfather to them.
