Former NFL star Eric Moulds is facing serious allegations of intentionally spreading sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), particularly herpes, according to a lawsuit filed on December 10th. The suit accuses Moulds of infecting multiple women, including one woman from Western New York (WNY), who claims that Moulds specifically targeted single mothers who were Buffalo Bills fans.
The woman, identified as Jane Doe, alleges that her relationship with Moulds began when he offered to train her but later evolved into a long-term romantic relationship in 2023. During an all-expenses-paid trip to Charlotte, North Carolina, Jane Doe claims that Moulds failed to disclose that he had herpes simplex virus Type 2 (HSV-2). She only learned of his condition when his pregnant fiancée, who had been engaged to Moulds for eight years, allegedly informed her in December 2023, warning her to get tested for STDs.
The lawsuit accuses Moulds of deliberately withholding this critical information, which has raised significant concerns about consent, public health, and potential legal ramifications. If proven, the case could have major legal consequences for Moulds.
The lawsuit claims that Eric Moulds knowingly transmitted sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including herpes, to multiple women, specifically targeting single mothers and Buffalo Bills fans. Jane Doe, the plaintiff, alleges that after a romantic relationship with Moulds in 2023, she tested positive for the virus. She also discovered that other women had previously sued Moulds over similar allegations. These women were reportedly also single mothers and Bills fans.
Moulds’ attorney, Frank LoTempio III, responded to the lawsuit, stating that they are in the process of gathering information and will vigorously defend the claims. He promised to provide more details once the litigation progresses.
Moulds, 51, was a standout wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills from 1996 to 2005 and is considered one of the NFL’s elite players. He concluded his career with the Houston Texans in 2006 and the Tennessee Titans in 2007. The lawsuit, however, casts a shadow over his post-NFL life, with serious legal implications if the allegations are substantiated.
