Dapper Music has denied allegations of exploitation made by artists Shallipopi and Muyeez. The label responded to claims in which both artists accused the company of unfair practices, including unauthorized management fees and breach of contract.
In a statement, Dapper Music refuted the accusations, emphasizing that all contracts with Shallipopi and Muyeez were agreed upon mutually and legally. The label also clarified that the standard industry commission of 30% was in place for all parties, including Shallipopi, and that there were no “forever deals” involved, as suggested by the artist.
In the case of Muyeez, Dapper Music stated that his father, Moshood Basheer, signed the contract on his behalf when Muyeez was a minor, with all the necessary witnesses present. Dapper Music expressed disappointment over the public nature of these accusations and vowed to pursue legal action if necessary to resolve the matter.
The label called the claims “false” and suggested they were part of a coordinated attack in response to the growing success of the company. Dapper Music remains confident in its legal and business practices and has offered to work with auditors and legal authorities to clear up any misunderstandings.
