Nancy Mace is facing renewed attention after an email she sent to a judge surfaced in her ongoing legal battle with her ex-fiancé Patrick Bryant.
Court documents reportedly include a March 9 email addressed to the presiding judge in Bryant’s defamation lawsuit against Mace. In the message, the congresswoman explained that she would be unable to attend a scheduled hearing, stating she was “OCONUS” (outside the continental United States) and noting she could not disclose her exact location for safety reasons.
In the same email, Mace referenced a possible visit to the White House, saying she might attend an event there “upon the invitation of the President” if she returned in time—an apparent nod to Donald Trump.
The email also included candid remarks about her legal situation, where she mentioned previously representing herself in court and suggested she was preparing to bring in new attorneys. She described the case as something that should be “open and shut” and expressed frustration with opposing counsel, urging the court to disregard what she called “nonsense” in the proceedings.
The judge reportedly responded with clarification, asking whether Mace was requesting a continuance and whether she would have legal representation by the scheduled hearing date.
The dispute stems from Bryant’s defamation lawsuit, in which he accuses Mace of making damaging public allegations against him. Mace has denied wrongdoing, maintaining that her actions were lawful and disputing his claims.
The legal conflict has grown increasingly contentious, with both sides trading accusations and raising concerns about public statements made during the case, which is still ongoing.#newsafro_
